Paula “LeXana” Libanio was born in Vila Franca Xira, in Portugal, in 1988. Her parents migrated from Portugal to London when she was just under two years old, in 1989. Her current passionate lyrics stems from her childhood life experiences. This past was plagued by negative emotions, the pressures of being an immigrant family, in a new country, which resulted in consistent bullying, that carried on in the early years of her life. LeXana witnessed first hand the social ills of a major urban-city, this included gangs, drugs, and violence. Her strong upbringing kept her from getting involved. She set her goals to positively influence and help her [neighborhood’s] ‘people' see a better path in life.
Her first track was with ROM Productions, with a ‘Spoken Word’ artist/rapper named “Edge.” This song was well received because the way she expressed deep emotions and pain. Her early listeners easily connected to her, since they witnessed the same scenarios as her, in their community.
