Born South Shields Co Durham, Gordie mother Northamptonian farther. We moved to Northampton in 1946 when I was two years old living in Wood Street with Dads parents. In 1949 we moved to Holdenby Road Kingsthorpe, Mum still lives there today. Left school 1959 and started work in engineering at Elcom Weedon Road Ind est. I have worked for a number of compannies in and around the town moving into the more specialised field of motor racing/ralling from around 1980 onwards finally retiring in 2009.
