We are a pair of Congolese freestyle MCs and fashion designers - Cruise and Lebon. Lebon is also a breakdancer. We are inspired by our country and our hometown Goma. Our country has been in war for a long time. We grew up without peace in our country. Everyday people were killing each other. Our hope for the future is that that will stop. We want peace for the future and through our music we want to promote that to our communities. That’s why we rap in French, Kiswahili and Lingala. Music is our way to express our feelings - to talk of sadness for our country but also hope. We started rapping when we were teenagers. It started off just writing punchlines with our friends and then we started to experiment putting it to music. The corner of Congo where we grew up was always dangerous, especially in the evening.
