First got into funk & Northern soul aged 11 listening to the likes of Dave Simmons, Emperor Rosko & Tony Blackburn way back in 1970. Then dabbled in heavy metal, prog-rock, jazz-rock, reggae & punk in the mid-70's as a teenager until I discovered Robbie Vincent, Greg Edwards & Radio Invicta in 1978. Then it was jazz-funk & soul as a mad passion until I went 'latin jazz' in 1982, buying obscure records galore from Paul Murphy's shop in Farringdon. 1986 it was rare groove thanks to Norman Jay's Saturday afternoon shows on Kiss, discovering loads of stuff I missed during the 70's, particularly underground disco. Loved the Acid House scene at the end of the 80's, then into Paul Trouble Anderson's kind of deep underground house and Bobby & Steve's jazz-house for most of the 1990's. Was DJ'ing a lot at that time, playing a mixture of Italian house, rare grooves and danceable indie rock. Now very much into 60's & 70's Northern Soul, Psych-Soul, Soul-Jazz and even Syd Dale !
