Hailing from the coastal town of Leigh-on-Sea, Larkebird, also known as Tim Larke, has carved out a unique niche in the music world as a dedicated vinyl crate digger and radio show host. His sonic journey is deeply rooted in the influential sounds of early Detroit and Chicago house, intertwined with the vibrant rhythms of Italio house, Afro-funk, and the disco grooves of the '70s and '80s.
Tim’s passion for music ignited during the explosive acid house scene of the 1980s, leading him to start collecting records—a passion that has only deepened over time.
Larkebird's DJ sets are a journey through genres, always gravitating towards the deeper side of house, yet defying easy categorisation. His eclectic style seamlessly blends spiritual jazz, cosmic slow-deep jams, jazzy breakbeat, deep house, and tech, with Latin and Afrobeat rhythms, and Balearic, creating a soundscape that’s both diverse and deeply immersive.
