Lakotah was blessed to grow up in a musical family. She learned quickly to harmonize as she sang with her father and her sisters. By the age of 7 she was learning to play the piano and at 10 she wrote her first song, accompanying herself on the guitar. Realizing that she had the ability to play any instrument she fancied, she studied the trumpet which she played in jazz bands throughout High School. Also during her high school tenure Lakotah studied the bass, guitar, the drums and keyboards.

Growing up in a myriad of diverse locations from New York to London then Seattle, Lakotah landed in Los Angeles where she began composing, recording, and producing demo submissions for other musical talent.
