L12 was born in 1990 and grew up in Heilbron, Germany. During the 90s his parents as well as his grandmother used to have a turntable and a vinyl collection in their living room. So he grew up listening to Vinyl. Raphael was always impressed by the turntable's technology and his interest in mixing grew more and more after he moved. First from Heilbronn to Mannheim and one year later to Heidenheim. During that time he heard a track that made him find his style in Techno Music: Dubfire-Grindhouse (Planet Terror Remix). The pressure and drive, the stomping bassline that forces you to dance in kombination with the leading dark vocals, awoke in him the ambition to start mixing.
