FDR, when introduced to A. Philip Randolph asked him, "what he thought of where the nation was headed." FDR replied upon hearing Randolph's remarks: "You know, Mr. Randolph, I've heard everything you've said tonight, and I couldn't agree with you more... including my capacity to be able to right many of these wrongs... But I would ask one thing of you and that is go out and make me do it."
Obama recounting the Randolph story, said he was just one person, that he couldn't do it alone. Obama's final answer: "Make me do it."

I have always loved the Roosevelt line, "....then make me do it." We have the power to make the president act, we just have to make him do it!?
