If there is one path above all others that's leads to war,
it is the path of weakness.

I have been determined not to be diverted from my central concerns
by mere irritants and fanatics.

I seek peace but I shall not surrender.

With your help, and the help of other free men, this crisis can be surmounted.

One path I will never choose, that is the path of surrender or submission.

My goal is not the victory of might, but the vindication of right, not peace at the expense of freedom, but both peace and freedom, here in this hemisphere, and, I hope, around the world that goal will be achieved.
