June, 2009 - My first live recording. It's a 2 hour piece of improvised goodness from one of my then weekly Funk N' Roll Thursday nights. For those Fn'R sessions, this was my favorite way to mix music: a schmorgesparade of genres, all just sloshed around on on top of the other. It covers a lot of ground & keeps things groovy along the way.
Mostly a funky hip-hop'd chill-out collection up until Jesus & his gospel show up about mid-way through. Then it takes a hook-up into some higher energy ground, but all the while it stays good for chilling. Considering it was recorded live, I'm pretty happy with it. Some of the transitions get a bit sloppy towards the end, I was pounding the bowls.
The week this before was recorded, Kim Jong ILL had just come out from his death bed with a pair of Blue Blocker shades & an underground nuclear bomb detonation.. so he got the Funk N' Roll invite!
