May, 2009: Change of pace from my other mix tapes, this is a neo-soul collection with a small bogwon intro. Inspired by the change in seasons here in Buenos Aires.. late May, the leaves are changing, the air is cool. Time is slowing and the cobblestone streets are filled with yellow & orange. The city is growing quiet now. Winter foods beckon to keep you warm.

This is slow tempo music for low light winter nights. For staying in. The bogwon moment in the beginning is to clean the air & harmonize the mood. Time for uninvited energies to find the door, for settling down, relaxing into the room. And from there, well the rest is just a series of r&b and soul. The gospel piece at the end is another cleanse... to lighten onda again and, probably, send you off to sleep.

Putting this together was a Salguero soul kitchen.. while recording I cooked a slow food meal, made tea, smoked a nargili, drank a bit of wine, and answered the doorbell as a friend stopped by. Soul kitchen indeed.
