In such a case, the dispute is submitted first to mediation underneath the WIPO Mediation Rules. Then, if a settlement is not reached inside a defined period of time (it is strongly recommended that the events present for either 60 or ninety days), or if a celebration refuses to participate or to continue to take part within the mediation, the dispute is referred for a binding choice via arbitration under the WIPO Arbitration Rules (or, if the events so agree, through expedited arbitration).
