Ken Cooke is an Electronic music DJ living in Southern California. His interest in live DJing followed a series of music reviewer gigs writing for the EBM/Industrial ‘zine Technology Works (1989-1991), the hip urban/electronic lifestyle and music magazine URB Magazine (1990-1997), the Los Angeles raver ‘zine Net.Werk (1995-1997), and the Orange County club ‘zine ClubLife (1994-1995). In Spring 1994, while looking through the Recycler Classifieds, two separate print ads for used Technics 1200 turntables appeared. With $475 in hand, and a weekly habit for buying vinyl on Melrose Ave. in Hollywood, his DJing career began later that fall. First, playing backyard parties and later small events in the Inland Empire, Ken visited music contacts that he made while writing articles for URB and Net.Werk on the East Coast.
