"Gard On Duty Thursdays" is a weekly event I do at The Midtown Tavern. It features myself mixing music from all across the board. I try to incorporate the many genres of music that have been influential throughout my life, starting with Classic Rock, Hip Hop (Underground) and just about anything from the 90's such as Tribe and De La or Nirvana and Sublime. Eventually, I expanded into 60's and 70's Funk, Soul, and Jazz with artists like James Brown, Lyn Collins, Grover Washington Jr. and Bill Withers. Recently I have dug deeper into the Indie Rock and IDM scenes with bands/groups like Spoon, The Decemberists and Pretty Lights. Put it all together, and it is a seamless eclectic mix of genres that sets the mood for a low key Thursday night giving the audience an entirely different listening experience than the usual DJ night. I am open to hearing your suggestions of new music to play as well.
I set it off at 9 PM and there is NO COVER. Must be 21+ to enter with proper ID.
