KAT + COTTO was born out of the speakers of Ibiza and raised on the dance floor of DC10. While KAT XX (formerly known as DJ CAT NYC) was DJing throughout venues on this magical island, COTTO (Brittany Cotto) was performing in an orchestra in the midst of a European tour. When COTTO returned to Ibiza, a serendipitous encounter arranged by the techno gods brought these two together.
In less than two months, these vixen have created two original tracks, a DJ mix and a slamming edit (with a new string section) of Jamie Jones’s remix of Tourist Trap by Guy Gerber and Puff Daddy.
With a third track in the works, these two are headed for exciting things.With Kat’s venomous brand of dark echoing electronica and Cotto’s moody but elegant violin, the fusion of their sounds creates a decadent realm of otherworldly vibrance.
