Kanilsnældur are Sigrún Skaftadóttir (26) and Lovísa Arnardóttir (29). They’ve been playing out since May 2011 with Kanill, a collective of dj’s and friends that regularly hosted club nights in Reykjavik. Since they started out they’ve been all over the Reykjavik club scene along with radio and festival appearances and garnished a strong reputation. They’ve also played in Canada and Denmark. They play an excellent selection of deep house music and their sets will make you want to dance and sing.
In 2013 they started a collective of female dj’s under the name Affair with 9 other female dj’s in Iceland. They host bi-monthly club nights where they all dj together as well as hosting a weekly club night where they rotate dj’ing one by one. They also host a radio show at FM Xtra 101,5 which is called Affair on the air.
