Founder and CEO of New Era Live (NEL)Kamau McCray began his education by attending broadcasting school in Baltimore, Maryland.

After graduating from broadcasting school, Kamau worked for several national media organizations such as Radio One, CBS Radio, Great Scott Broadcasting, JKC Communications and other media companies.

Working for these organizations gave him vast knowledge of operations in the entertainment industry, extensive experience in event planning and insight regarding what industry pitfalls to avoid.

While in radio, Kamau acquired valuable insight and contacts in the radio, recording, and media industries. After utilizing the contacts acquired through the radio industry, Kamau began promoting recording artists for major record labels here in the Baltimore metropolitan area.

His duties included promoting artist’s singles for radio exposure, taking conference calls with regional record company executives, and creating itineraries for artists while in town.
