The Matte World

The Matte World

Follow the poem

Away from the matte world
into restless dreams
All that exists dances
As pointless as it seems.

Its beauty you’ll witness,
simplicity at best.
Flaps of a cool breeze
float in your head.

Infinite perfection
All elements seem right.
Thyself extend in wonder
with shapes previously tight.

Shapes you’ll shift are notes,
colours and glee,
an invite for free,
a step closer to be

one self with the One.
The Ruler of all
The guardian of Nature…
nothing will fall.

The deeper you dive,
Perception keeps cleansing.
Yet fear of the unknown
makes sinking so frightening.

Pulled up slowly
Colours re matte,
Sounds are less holy,
Black light’s ahead.

Back in the matte world, oblivious souls linger,
No spirit is witnessed, no spirit is known,
Caged by the forces of your flesh and bone.

Daniel Micallef

This is amazing work. Josefflorian explores very high places in the mind. The verses reflect a serious detachment from the world we perceive. Whether this is the author's true view of our world experience is unknown. The sounds transcend escapism much like the poem. The author manages to sense positivity though... A matte surface is still able to reflect light... a light which we have to hold dear in our journey.
