Reflections on a summer

Reflections on a summer

Playing tracks by

Brooks and O'Hagan, Demensa, Wintercoats, Musée Mécanique, Bluetech and more.

Chart positions

This show was 3rd in the global acoustic chart, 5th in the global indie pop chart, 9th in the global folk chart and 80th in the global electronic chart.

I've done a lot of driving this summer, and had a chance to get hooked on a few of the tracks on this mix. I hope you like them too. Some have been happy surprises, others are old favourites, and that's how I like my mixes. Thanks to Scott for the photo – to use his own favoured phrase, he's a top man: https://williamsphotographysouth.wordpress.com/gallery-2-3/

Yes , I recognised that voice and immediately googled it to find that it is indeed Sally Barker, her voice has a rich tone all of its own, if she had been younger she would have won it hands down me thinks.

Thanks Jon that was diverse, in a good way, I thought Mulcair was going to morph into the "midnight cowboy" at any second and the Ben Howard track is amazing, good stuff.

Ha, yes indeed it's an interesting, ahem, 'homage'. And the Ben Howard is great yes. Completely unexpected turn of events. I was almost tempted to follow it by U2's 'Wire' if you know it, but decided against in the end. The Poozies singer was on 'The Voice' last year. Not a lotta people know dat.

Thanks. I've been meaning to get the last track in a mix for a while. It's now a bit of an in-joke for me after a week's closure of London Bridge station last month! Hoping Brooks and O'Hagan will release a whole album sometime soon.
