Jonathan J Mendes, aka Dr. Steam started out as a wedding dj in 1993 with his father at the age of thirteen . In 1999, after mixing Hip Hop and standard club fare, he discovered Drum and Bass and his life changed forever. For the next two years Jonathan performed under various alias’. In 2001 after searching for a proper moniker, Steam was created. The title "Dr." was given to him later on by some of his students that later became professional performers. In late 2011 Jonathan met Eric Garrison aka Erex (owner of Ruckus Entertainment/Isuarave Music Festival). Showing determination and hard work he quickly became a Ruckus Entertainment's founding artists, and recently was added to 1200 Hustle. Performing with acts like Dieselboy, Danny the Wildchild, Herobust, Skrux, Sylo, Another Monster, Cyberoptics, Spankalicious, Bass Science, Kill Rex, Moniker, Ralph and Louie, Truth and many more.
