By 1999 I had started crate digging for records that I wanted for my collection. I was fortunate to have been noticed by a local DJ named Dee Fletcher who went by the moniker "Manic D." (Who has since passed away) He had such a presence behind the decks. Let alone his impeccable track selection. Much of which most of us had never heard of. So to say that Dee pushed those of us in our tight knit group in East Tennessee to expand our scope of musical vision is key to mention here. That being said, it was not until 2000 at a small venue called "The Proto Club," that I got to witness the movement of Jungle/DNB in full affect. I was at a small venue where 3 amazing DJs were throwing down some of the nastiest, filthiest and grimiest beats I had EVER heard.
