It's dawned on me that there is a pie, but it is a capricious, jealous pie that thinks it baked itself. One rests comforted in the knowledge that pies grow mouldy if left uneaten.

Smile, and the world smiles with you!

I've discovered, in the past few years, that life's little problems and ironies are best defeated by contemplation, laughter and twisted humour. I've realised that silly little adages like 'Time Flies' and 'Laughter is the best medicine' have some truth in them; that family is finally paramount only when you're away from them for 6 days in a week; that friends colour life in all shades and hues; that childlike truisms can be profoundly moving; and that life is a construction of various other lives. Life is too good to sulk through, and I've resolved to make the best of it with my friends and family.
