DeeJay J.Marz is a Chicago-based DJ who got started in 1995 when he bought his first setup. It was his brother who introduced him to Hip-Hop and House music at an early age. He used to listen to all his brothers house and hip-hop mix tapes which he used as a study guide to help define his style along with his mom’s record collection that ranged from salsa, soul, funk and r&b. You can surely tell that it was the sound and musicality of the scratch that had J.Marz drawn to the turntables. Within all his sets he will always treats the turntable as a musical instrument and never let his beloved art form die.
J.Marz is also one of the many talented resident radio DJ’s with Power Style Radio MixMasters (DJ’s Moz Definite, IllaNoize, HanzSolo and Nobley Nobe) airing Tuesday nights from 8:30pm – 11:30pm on www.que4.org and now is a part of the nationally renowned Scratch DJ Academy in Chicago co-founded by Jam Master Jay.
