Happy to be alive, here in Austin, TX.

I grew up in Rochester, NY, then visited Kingston, Jamaica in my late teens and my world opened up in a new way. I started writing songs and singing there and I came back knowing that's what I wanted to do with my life, and that's what I've done, more or less, ever since. Singing is my own kind of faith, and it connects me to the world in a way that keeps me honest, and keeps me in love with life.
