t’s really not uncommon that artists grow up with music in their family. For Jens Willems aka The Saint, it’s the same thing. His father, who happened to be a musician, and a master in different classical instruments, made the first contact with music unavoidable. His first contact wasn’t just any kind of music: he grew up with one of the most distinguished styles in music, jazz.
With jazz as a sturdy base, he got attracted to the world of dance floor music by going out. In 2004, amidst the flourishing era of Belgian clubbing, he got his first real moment with electronic music. The funny thing is, he was only 13 years of age, which means he actually wasn’t allowed to access clubs. But somehow, with the help of his brother he got in the first time, and continued to do so until he expanded his views.
This expansion meant becoming a regular visitor of quality clubs like Fuse, Café d’Anvers, Silo and others. About 6 years ago, one of the godfathers of techno, Dave Clarke, played in Fusüe.
