Making radio with BCB 106.6fm, our local community radio station. This is my archive.
I'm an artist, performer & all-round creative who for too many years was trapped inside the body of a forensic scientist. I gave up the workplace to travel the world & eventually landed in Bradford, a place I now love & call home.
Initial involvements with BCB were occasional & reluctant but others believed in & encouraged me. In 2023 I was persuaded to make a show for International Women’s Day (IWD) & thus Keep Being You was born. A year later, a little more courage, & our 2nd show went out on IWD 2024. Then Reyhana, my co-presenter, & I decided to make it a regular monthly show. Since then I have learnt tech skills, have stepped into the fab world of live radio & have even dipped my toes into outside broadcasts. I am eternally grateful to BCB staff & volunteers who have encouraged & mentored me along the way & mostly for pushing me into doing it in the first place!
