Jay got into UK Hardcore in 1999 whilst working on Clacton Pier. Back then he was addicted to the bouncy Happy Hardcore tunes such as Heart of Gold and Shooting Star. It wasn’t long before he attended his first event, Dreamscape.

A couple of his mates with who Jay attended events, had been DJing for some time. He would often watch with amazement at the skill and technique when mixing tracks. When one of his mates wanted to sell his decks and mixer, Jay immediately snapped them up! buying his first batch of vinyl shortly afterwards. Disturbance was born! Learning the ropes with his friend Koncept, Jay started pirate radio broadcasts with Sky FM and Bass FM.

Within a year, Jay played his first set out at Hardcore Shenanigans and has since gone on to play at Summit, Raindance, HTID and Uproar. After a little break from the rave scene, Disturbance has come back, streaming for Shenanigans and Exposed events.
