I was 8 years old when I discovered mod. That was in '78 once I'd begun to rummage through my parents' record collections.
Kinks, Tamla, Spencer Davis, The Stones, The Mojos, Small Faces, The Manfreds - that mix of RnB and 60s beat hooked me from the off.
Through school, I lived and breathed mod, discovering northern and admiring efforts of groups like The Jam and Secret Affair during the '79 revival.
Living in Willenhall in my teens, I was lucky to have Makin' Time on my doorstep; they fueled the fire until the embers died out completely in '86.
I did the clubbing bit in 88-90, then spent a full 20 years on the dark side, discovering Hendrix, Cream, Sabbath, Zepellin and many more along the way.
Then out of the blue, my wife bought me a ticket to see Weller in Brum for my 45th birthday in 2015.
Bitten by 'The Mod' once more, I'm now discovering 60s Garage Rock/Beat/Psych and the influence the genre had on the bands I loved growing up. It's a blast! #KTF
