Jason the Technoengineer is a bedroom mixer who was introduced to Acid House when at college back in 1989 - picked up a copy of the "Acid Trax Megamix" and was hooked.
He took a few years to get into the rave scene, initially going out to the Academy in Bournemouth (remember the "Star Bar?") and the Escape Club in Southampton. This was at the time of there being lots of commercial rave music in the charts - the KLF, Bizarre Inc and such like.
Then around 1992, the commercial scene went all soft, and harder music was to be found by events run by "Adrenalin" and a regular club night at Madisons in Bournemouth. By this time, he was routinely buying records from the Movement shop, having a slight foray into oldskool hardcore, but later finding his home in the bosom of Techno and HardTrance. He finally started mixing in 1994, mostly self-taught, observing other DJs such as Colin Faver, with some sage advice from Stu-J.
Since 2004 he's been getting more into Trance.
