Jared Dillian heard Erasure's "Hideaway" at age 13 and was forever hooked on electronic music, amassing a giant CD (and cassette) collection one $10 allowance at a time. A classically trained pianist and organist, his love for electronic music continued through adolescence and into adulthood, and after being thoroughly rinsed in the financial crisis of 2008, decided to at last pursue his dream of being a DJ, splurging on top-of-the-line Pioneer decks and mixer. Trance was his gateway drug, but today he plays a blend of progressive house and techno, and his stripped-down, melodic sound is instantly recognizable: dark, masculine underground techno beats with progressive elements, both emotive and lyrical--but never commercial.
