Jamie Jambo Chapman

Croydon, United Kingdom

Growing up on the crackle of Rinse FM and the chaos of Sidewinder tapes, Jambo was a student of the scene before he ever touched decks. “Slimzee was a god to me,” he says, eyes lit with the fire only real heads recognize. “The way he’d drop a Wiley dubplate or let a set breathe—man had control of the room like a general in war.”

Inspired by the rawness of the early 2000s—mic passings, reloads, pirate frequencies—Jambo took that energy and made it his own. His sets today are a love letter to that time: 140 BPM pressure, chopped vocals, gun-finger worthy drops, and that unmistakable grime swing.

But don’t get it twisted—Jambo’s not stuck in the past. He’s blending new-wave producers with classic instrumentals, unearthing lost dubs, and giving space to rising MCs who remind him of a young D Double E spitting in stairwells. “Grime’s never died,”

It’s DJs like Jambo who prove grime isn't just nostalgia—it's a living, breathing force.
