ILO—born Francesco Aiello—is someone who makes you wonder if he truly belongs to this planet. When he talks about music, it’s as if you’re watching an E.T. encountering a rushing waterfall for the very first time. Under his touch, records seem to turn into liquid, melting seamlessly into one another.
He first encountered a DJ mixer at just fifteen years old; after cutting his teeth in holiday resorts, he went on to play at some of Sicily’s finest clubs, including Catania’s “Mercati Generali.”
In the late nineties, he moved to Bologna, seeking fresh inspiration and a chance to engage with more independent scenes—ones that operated outside the conventional nightlife circuit.
He became a resident DJ at the LINK Project and has made guest appearances at clubs all across Europe.
He now lives in Parma, where—as an avid record collector—he remains in a constant state of searching for himself within the grooves of his vinyl.
