‘After a varied career in film, the raves, clubs, festivals and squat parties of the 80s and 90s and beyond that I experienced kept on snapping at my heals like an agitated Rottweiler, and the lure of DJing became too much to resist. By the mid 2010s I found myself DJing house and techno with the B Beats collective at house parties and festival backwaters, before taking on a residency with B Beats at Brixton’s Club 414.
As Covid hit, B Beats regularly streamed its own show, which was interspersed by many online ‘Zoom parties’. As Covid restrictions relaxed, the bold CNR mini-fests ensued which I among many esteemed DJs on the circuit obliged. I also DJed on various shows, party-live-streams and charity fundraisers, among others. Later still, I was involved in Fluffifest, Frolic Festival, Mardi Grass and Burning Van Festival. From those, the Plato’s Cave collective was formed for a predominantly techno nod, which we DJed online and also in-person at venues around the country.’
