Rashad “Hurricane The King (HTK)” Hawkins is an independent Rapper/Songwriter/Producer/Videographer/Graphic Designer from Baltimore, MD. Since 2008 HTK has been working rigorously creating, distributing, and promoting his art while trying to connect with a broader audience. Heavily influenced by Kanye West, 2Pac, Jay-Z, and Cam’ron; HTK matches an unorthodox flow with witty lyrics and a vocal presence unmatched by most.
After becoming fed up with the repetitive pop-like instrumentals that were being over used in the Hip-hop industry, HTK began to produce his own instrumentals. Drawing inspiration from legendary producers; Kanye West, Timbaland, Heatmakerz, and RZA, HTK has created a new “sample-heavy” style that incorporates techniques used in classic hip-hop while adding a new southern flavor to it.
