DESTA*NATION is a predominantly roots reggae soundsystem based in Oxford UK, founded around 1995, and generating a wave of free parties in outdoor and abandoned spaces, sometimes drawing crowds of thousands. Along with the band, MACKATING, all living under one roof, a collective energy was created (as well as numerous releases on the "Shemesh" label), which brought strong positive vibrations to numerous causes for change happening at the time.
Having suffered the loss of our beloved brother and co-founder,David Norland, as well as singer/mc Slimma Levi, both band and soundsystem have been through a lull, though we continue to send the positive vibes out deh on a weekly radio show, on First FM, (previously Destiny 105.1FM, Oxford's Community Radio station ) streaming via www.firstfm.uk and Tunein, every Sunday night from 10pm until midnite.
