About me. Hmm. I am a breast cancer survivor. I fought it and went through regular biopsies every 6-12 months for nearly 20 years. After finding yet another "borderline" area again in 2008, much larger this time, and 3-4 docs telling me they are fairly confident I have one of the BRCA gene mutations, I finally bit the bullet and followed the advice of my docs to have a prophylactic bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction. Yep. That means they took it all out and rebuilt me. So now I am down to normal risk, no risk factors.
It's amazing how much going through something like this can change your outlook on life. I have learned to appreciate all that I have. I know I'm not a perfect person and I have made many mistakes in my lifetime. All I can do is move forward now knowing I am not who I used to be. I fully believe in paying it forward and treating others as I would want to be treated myself.
