Before hopping behind the decks, Nashville-based producer and vinyl dj Anthony Merriweather, known by his alias Hikko Mori, found an outlet with music in beatmaking – drawing inspiration from the likes of Madlib, Dirty Projectors and The Beastie Boys early in his musical journey.

Crate digging is the foundation that fuels his sample-based tracks and groovy dj sets – which are night and day in comparison.

Hikko Mori, derives from the Japanese term hikikomori directly translating to social withdrawal – a theme found present in his minimalistic, soulful tracks.
