the further one goes the less one knows.
having spent almost 30 years programming specialist music shows on various Sydney radio stations, I took a well deserved break about 12 years ago from radio. living in the country gives me loads of time to listen again to mostly older recordings, records and CD's which have come into my collection over the years via friends, record companies or more often than not 2nd hand shops. with the radio shows i never set out to do any particular genre, though shows ended up with labels such as ambient or world music. i just always intended to put together 'interesting' programs which hopefully connected with the listeners. Radio Cessnock continues that aim.
I once interviewed Daniel Lanois and he made a comment that good musicians will always be good musicians, and good music will always be good music. I agree. Maybe you will hear some of it here.
