I am a felt artist! What's that? I make wool dreadlocks that I infiltrate into gorgeous silk in the shape of dresses. Amazing.
I buy my silk from the best and fairest silk sari distributor (where all the movie stars go in India) and my wool is hand-dyed by my secret weapon. I also buy wool that is grown, and dyed in Australia at a small factory in Victoria. I only use very fine quality Australian Merino occasionally blended with silk and natural fibres like NZ flax. My work can be resized and sculpted for the best fit.
I have been working with wool since 2004 and have broken every rule of felting that I can think of. This passionate obsession has made me THE foremost felt fashion artist in Australia if not the world, cue theme music. Admittedly it is a pretty small group of people.
I work to commission and also do one-off pieces that I offer to a small group of shops in Sydney.
