If you’re reading this bio expecting some unbelievable sob story about how I grew up in an abusive household with nothing and turned to music as my savior you’re going to be very disappointed. I had a normal suburban childhood with a normal suburban upbringing. Boring, right? Maybe so, but it doesn’t mean I’m any less passionate about my music then someone who was less fortunate (or so they claim). My parents got me an acoustic guitar when I was eleven (still have it) and a dual cassette player/recorder soon after that (long gone now). I would use the cassette recorder to overdub guitar, vocal, and drum (i.e. hands on back of acoustic guitar) tracks until the sound quality was so bad the background hiss would be the only thing left you could hear. Obviously I was hooked on recording my own music but, at that time, was much too afraid to let anyone hear it. Other than some guitar lessons, that didn’t last long, I had no formal training in song writing or music production. In my
