I love obscure 50s and 60s rock and roll, along with classic country, folk and novelty. My wife jokes that I like music by old dead people, which is true, but being dead is not a prerequisite for my approval.
I link songs together thematically either by something musically in common or subject matter. There's also my personality, for better or worse, in voice breaks between groups of songs.
I like to think of it as radio the way it was back in the day before stations were locked in to a strict format.
