Beats whose genetic material has been altered using genetic engineering techniques. These techniques, generally known as G.M.B - Labs technology, use music samples and effects from different sources, which are combined to create a new set of sound frequencies. This sample is then transferred into an existing track or set, giving it modified beats. Transgenic beats, a subset of GMBs, are beats which have inserted samples that originated in a different music genre. Some GMBs contain no samples from other genres and are therefore not transgenic but cisgenic.
