Gary Martin began TEKNOTIKA Records in 1993 when most techno artists are out to create a new and futuristic sound, the state of mind of Gary Martin, a.k.a Gigi Galaxy is what occurs after every sound has been sounded. In the world of TEKNOTIKA, the past, the present, and the future all come together in a musical conglomeration.
The original concept of the label was to merge techno with exotica, the music genre most popular in the late 50s and early 60s, and consisted of mostly instrumental music with a lot of percussion. This music served to highlight exotic places and beautiful women.
Gary and the Teknotika Record label is known for its diversity with styles ranging from tribal house, deep house, electro, and of course, techno.
Joining Submerge Management and Distribution signified the beginning of the steady stream of releases of 12” vinyl records and rare CD’s now upwards of 50 releases. Gary also has releases on KMS, RF, Mole People, Motech, Eye Q, Exception
