Lady Bird Lake in downtown Austin, is gone across by Congress Bridge and is also home to over a million bats. From early Spring with late Loss, the bats leave the safety and security of the bridge as well as fly out near sunset to locate food. Visitors can observe the sensation from the bridge, from the observation location at the southeast edge of the bridge, or from a bat boat scenic tour directly on the lake.
