1975 and here I am stationed in Anchorage Alaska, Fort Richardson for the United States Army. While there I went to the PX (Post Exchange)and saw a Kenwood sound system that sounded great. I also bought a 8 track player, a cassette deck and a turntable. That was my first sound system.When I returned to Brooklyn New York and settled in,my sister needed music for her wedding and thats where I began my career of playing at peoples low budget affairs.
no mixer just an integrated amp with a source button I would go from a 8 track to cassette to turntable or randomly put whichever one had the songs that I wanted. It was crazy.
New years 1977 I’m at this club where I saw Dj Flowers Dj Love Bug Starsky in full Cerwin Vega sound system action.
A week later I went Crazy Eddies,this store had everything for DJs. There I bought my first pro set with Mixer and Technics 1800 Turntables, i was done with my belt driven Turntable.
