I'm a retired DJ who worked on the road in England from the early 1980s until the early 20s. As an early DJ, beat syncing was done by holding your thumb on the edge of a belt-driven vinyl deck. But when I could afford the Technics SL1200, it changed the world for me and allowed me to take beat matching to a new level. Nowadays, I mix for fun in the studio and create shows primarily focused on house and disco music.
