80s Underground Classics

an exploration into some 80s underground hits from the post-disco and early house music days. The spotlight shines on a few legendary players here: mastering legend Herb Powers and Boyd Jarvis & Timmy Regisford.

Herb’s talents show up with : Visual (Music Got Me), Paul Simpson’s ‘Use Me Lose Me’ (Tony Humphries is also on this track), Jeanette “Lady” Day (Come Let Me Love You), Pamela Joy (“Think Fast”).

Boyd & Timmy were members of Visual, and also mixed Curtis Hairston’s “I want Your lovin”.

Also of note, Prince’s “Erotic City” features the recording debut of Sheila E.
