Timo Vollbrecht is a saxophonist/composer from Berlin, who has a strong international presence, most notably in New York. His quartet FLY MAGIC merges jazz, new music, minimalism, post rock, and contemporary sound and song culture. Each piece unravels its own otherworldly sonic palette. The sonic beauty envelops the listeners, invites them IN and surrounds them. The ensemble draws inspiration from the members' diverse cultural backgrounds (Germany-Japan-Austria) and has toured worldwide (in cooperation with the Goethe-Institute among others). Appearances in Germany, Europe, Asia, at the Panama Jazz Fest, Perth International Jazz Festival Australia, and, together with Branford Marsalis at the jazz festival in Haiti and at the Village Vanguard in New York.
The band comprises Berliner sound artist Keisuke Matsuno, Berlin-based Matthias Pichler,Berlin-based drummer Sebastian Merk.
