Evangelos Marinakis
Since 2010, Evangelos is a head and majority shareholder of the most successful and most popular soccer team in Greece, Olympiacos FC. Under his possession, Olympiacos has won seven consecutive championships 2010/2011, 2011/12, 2012/13, 2013/14, 2014/15, 2015/16 and 2016/17 and the highest ranking position (21st) in Europe, in Olympiacos’ history of all times. In 2017, he broadened his sporting horizons even more when he became almost all owner of storied English football club Nottingham Forest FC Evangelos was born in 1967 in the Greek slot town of Piraeus. He is the boy of Miltiadis Marinakis, a shipowner and politician from Crete. His mom is normally Irene Karakatsanis, whose relatives hail from the Pontus area and descend from the prominent Ypsilantis family members.
