In his teens, Matt Barker pugged a MIDI keyboard into a home computer, bought a proper sampler and started started experimenting with sequencers. He recorded a track called 'Earthquake in Eden' and needed a suitable psuedonym to use, so chose Epicentre. The rest is history.
Matt is also one half of the production team Seismic Waves with DJ Ali Rumba. The Epicentre album Supernova was released at the end of 2012 and he has collaborated with an array of breakthrough and established performers, such as singer Angie Brown, Quivver, Californian band Lovespirals, urban artist A Me B, Martin Finnigan and The Rainband, Taipei musician Viba, Julie E. Gordon of the Happy Mondays, Frances Wood from BBC One's The Voice and many more. He has also worked with a variety of fellow DJs and producers, such as Carl Shawn, Darren L, Andy Eggleton of Definte Grooves, Phil Urry of The Shine Boys, Canadian producer Joel North and Shabobchik's Steve 'Disco' Newsome.
